IPTV Smarters Pro is a widely used IPTV player, popular because it runs on many platforms — Android phones and TVs, Fire TV, iPhone and iPad, Apple TV and computers — with a similar layout everywhere. This IPTV Smarters setup guide shows how to log in, find your way around, load the TV guide and fix the most common errors.
Like every legitimate player, IPTV Smarters Pro contains no channels. It plays the content from the login you add.
Install the right app
Install IPTV Smarters Pro from your device’s official store — Google Play, the Amazon Appstore, or the Apple App Store — or from the developer’s official website. Versions on different platforms have sometimes been published under slightly different names, and look-alike apps exist, so check the developer name before installing.
On Fire TV, see our Firestick IPTV setup guide for installing apps safely; on Apple devices, our guide to IPTV on Apple TV, iPhone and iPad covers the App Store side.
Log in with Xtream Codes (recommended)
Xtream Codes logins load live TV, films, series and the guide together, so use this method if your provider offers it.
- Open the app and choose Login with Xtream Codes API (wording may vary slightly).
- Fill in the fields:
- Any name: a label for this login, for example “Living room”.
- Username and Password: exactly as supplied — both are case-sensitive.
- URL: the server address, including
http://orhttps://and the port number if there is one, for examplehttp://example-server.com:8080.
- Select Add user.
- The app downloads your channels, films and series. This can take a minute on large accounts.
Log in with an M3U playlist
- Choose Load your playlist or file/URL.
- Enter a name, select M3U URL, and paste or type the playlist link.
- Select Add user.
M3U logins often load live channels only. If you also want films, series and catch-up, ask your provider whether an Xtream Codes login is available.
Find your way around
The home screen splits content into sections:
- Live TV: channels grouped into categories.
- Movies and Series: on-demand libraries, if your provider includes them.
- Catch-up: recent programmes, if your provider supports catch-up.
- Install EPG / TV guide: loads programme information.
- Settings: player, parental controls, time format and more.
Within Live TV, choose a category on the left, then a channel. Press OK or tap the preview to go full screen.
Load the TV guide
- From the home screen, choose Install EPG (or the guide option in Settings).
- Wait for the download to finish.
- Open Live TV and switch to the EPG or guide view.
If the guide is empty for some channels, your provider may not supply guide data for them. If times are wrong, check the time format and time zone options, and make sure the device clock is set automatically.
Settings worth changing
| Setting | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Player selection | Built-in player first; try the alternative player for channels that won’t play |
| Buffer / stream format | Leave defaults unless your provider advises otherwise |
| Parental control | Set a PIN and lock unwanted categories |
| Automation | Turn on automatic updates of channels and EPG if offered |
| Time format | 12- or 24-hour, whichever you prefer |
For what each option does, see IPTV player settings explained.
Multiple users and devices
You can add more than one login and switch between them from the user list — useful if you have two subscriptions or separate logins for different rooms. Each login counts against its own plan’s screen limit, so watching on more devices at once than your plan allows can cause “max connections” errors. See using IPTV on multiple devices for how connection limits work.
Common problems and fixes
“Invalid username or password” or “Authorization failed”. Retype the details; check capital letters, the http/https prefix and the port. Confirm the account is active. Our guide to fixing IPTV authorization errors goes through every check in order.
“Could not connect to server”. Check your internet connection, then try the same login on another device. If it fails everywhere, contact your provider.
Channels buffer or freeze. Use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi, close other apps, and try the alternative player for that channel.
Films and series missing. You may have logged in with an M3U link; switch to an Xtream Codes login if your provider offers one.
App crashes on start. Clear the app’s cache (on Android-based devices), update the app, or remove and re-add the user.

Using IPTV Smarters on a computer
Desktop versions of the player work like the TV and phone apps: add a user with your Xtream Codes or M3U details, install the EPG and browse by section. A computer connected by cable is also a good place to test your login — if it works there but not on the TV, focus on the TV’s connection and app.
A first-login checklist
Before you press Add user, check:
- The URL starts with
http://orhttps://exactly as your provider wrote it. - The port number (the part after the colon, such as
:8080) is included if your provider gave one. - There are no spaces before or after the username, password or URL.
- Capital letters in the username and password match exactly.
- The account is active and you’re within your plan’s screen limit.
Most “invalid login” errors are fixed by one of these five checks.
Privacy tips
- Never share screenshots that show your server address, username and password.
- Only enter your login in apps installed from official sources.
- Remove old logins from devices you no longer use.
The bottom line
IPTV Smarters Pro is quick to set up: install it from an official store, log in with Xtream Codes if you can, install the EPG and adjust a few settings. Its consistent layout across phones, TVs and computers makes it a good choice when you use several devices.
